Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- ½ cup milk
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp dried thyme (optional)
- Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté until fragrant.
- Add ground beef, season with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Cook until browned; drain excess fat.
- In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup with milk until smooth.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, followed by half of the beef mixture.
- Pour half of the soup mixture over the beef and sprinkle with cheese.
- Repeat layers, finishing with cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake another 15–20 minutes until potatoes are tender and the top is golden.
- Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
